Thinking outside the box

Sometimes kittens are in the box.
But mostly, they are here.

Or here.

Or here.

Or, even sleeping on Josh.
This is the one that he keeps calling his favorite.
Its taken all week, but I've finally reached an agreement with Ally. I can sit with the kittens on the couch, or the floor, while she feeds them. When she starts to get irritated (after about 15 minutes) I put them back in their box. Sometimes the kittens are in the box, but Ally isn't.
Some of their eyes are starting open. The black one is behind the group. He was the last to start purring while eating, and his eyes are just barely starting to peak open.
Don't let this cute face fool you, this one cries the loudest. His eyes are halfway.
The gray one was the first to start purring.
The little cutie has big round eyes.

Chrissy Lee Creations

My friend, Christine, has started selling her beautiful dolls at Chrissy Lee Creations.

I absolutely adore and love her dolls, which is a big deal, because I wasn't into dolls growing up. Currently I own three, but another one is already on the way.

My Christmas Doll

My Valentine's Doll My Spring Doll

My cowgirl doll is in the mail, so I don't have a picture yet, but you can view it HERE. She even named it after me!

Christine's dolls are made with love and a skill of perfection (I can say that because I HATE to sew). They are very reasonably priced and just super cute. Makes me wish I had a daughter, or neices, I could buy them for. I guess I'll just keep collecting them for myself for now. Check out her website HERE.

Close to My Heart July Pages

Once a month I go to a Close To My Heart scrapbook group run by Janel Brinkerhoff. She designs the pages herself and then cuts out all the pieces for us. They always turn out so cute, and Janel gets all the credit for that. When we get together we put them together. The only creative part on my end is what colors of buttons I choose and where I put them. I love the Close to My Heart products and I love going to scrapbook group each month.

I'm supposed to take my pages to work so some of the gals I work with can see them, but I always forget to. So I thought I would start blogging them each month so they can see what we made and others who follow this blog can get some layout ideas for when they scrapbook.

I must admit that most of my pages never get past this stage. I need to buckle down and get some pictures taken and then get them added to my many pages. Maybe when my house in back in order, when I finish painting, I'll try to post some of the others pages we've made.
If you want to buy Close To My Heart products, Janel has a website HERE.

Heather and Blaine

This is my cousin, Heather, and her husband, Blaine. Like us, they realize the only way they can become parents is through the miracle of adoption. (Also know as the expensive world of adoption.)
Picture taken by Mariah Parry Evanson

Heather is not only my cousin, but is one of my dearest friends. She had helped me celebrate the highs and mourn the lows of adoption. I want to see her dreams of mother hood come true.

My cousin, and one of my very dear friends, is trying to raise money for their adoption. They just started a website where you can learn more about them, upcoming fundraisers, and make donations. Please visit their website, Help Our Dreams Come True, and help in what ever way you can. Adoption is so expensive, lets help their dreams come true.

A hairy situation

I got a new haircut yesterday. I absolutely LOVE it! I found a picture of Jennifer Aniston as Rachel Green and took it in with me to show the gal what I wanted. Usually when I get a hair cut I just show them about the length I want and ask them to style it cute.

I've had a hard time finding a new stylist since mine took a break to have a baby years ago, but I think I have found a new stylist now. She has great rates; my cut and color was $25 because she gave me a first time client discount. Plus she will be giving a discount to the lady who recommended her to me.

I promise to post more pictures of the kittens soon. But here is a few pictures.

A not so hairy situation

Josh has wanted to shave his head for years. Ever since September 2004. That month, after 9 long moths of hard work, Josh graduated from the POST Police Academy. The morning of his graduation I gave him a hair cut. We went to his moms so I could use her clippers. I had his hair all cut, but at the last minute I thought I had missed a spot. So I picked the razor up and ran over that spot. I didn't remember that I had taken the length guard off. He had a reverse Mohawk up the left side of his head.

That was one of those moments where I realized what an amazing man I married. I was in TEARS! How could I do that hours before his graduation ceremony?! He had a few laughs, calmed me down, and told me to get the rest of it shaved off. He looked like a giant q-tip.

As with all bad haircuts, his hair grew back in a few weeks. But ever since then, he has begged me to just let him shave it. There is no denying it, he is slowly going bald. Each year his hairline recedes a little more. But with each haircut I begged him to let me enjoy his hair while he had it.

Last Friday I gave him a haircut. The front sides have been getting thinner and thinner. But this time there was no denying that there was an almost bald spot in the back. There was a little hair still, but not much. I really thought he would have hair until he was 30. I had planned to give up the fight then.

I finished the haircut I started because I was not willing to use the Bic to get a closer shave. He has to do that himself. So I had all week to prepare for this. Thursday night he came home with his new electric razor and we finished buzzing his head clean of hair. I will admit, I haven't hated it as much as I thought I would. I know he didn't do this sooner because of me. What can I say, that man really loves me and does all he can to keep me happy.

Here he is in his baldness glory.
You know what they say about bald men? God only made a few perfect people. He put hair on the rest.

Or course, no post these days is complete without a picture of these cuties. :)

Sleeping is such hard work

The gray one sleeps on its back all the time. Well, not every time it sleeps, but just about all the time.

We will miss you Baby

Sometimes things don't go well. Sometimes you do all you can, but the miracle you pray for doesn't happen. Sometimes life sucks. We will miss you Baby.

What I come home to :)

This is what I rush home to every night.
These two were cuddle so cute, I had to move the others and get a close up.
Update on the calico's foot. The circulation was cut off too long. I'm taking mom and the babies to the vet tomorrow. I want to have the vet give Ally a checkup just to make sure she is okay. We will also take care of the calico and get her all cleaned up.

I also have to add this picture of Zipper. He sleeps in the most unusual positions and it cracks me up.

Kittens!

I love having baby kittens! It was so hard to go to bed last night, I just wanted to sit by them all day. But as much as I love them, I will never have kittens again. The more I think about the four kittens and how they were attached by their cords, the more I get sick over it. I am pretty sure there was no way they came out one at a time, they had to have come out all clumped together. I am so sorry Ally, you never ever EVER have to do this again. I am so grateful she survived.

I took the one with the foot problem to the vet today. The vet said all we can do for now is keep an eye on it. With in a few days we will be able to tell if the foot is still alive or if circulation was cut off to long. He was pretty sure it would be the latter, so I'm already planning a trip back to the vet on Friday to get it all cleaned up.

This one was my least favorite until Ally got it all cleaned up. Its probably the closet looking to Ally's boyfriend. That is what we call the tabby cat that we saw around the house while Ally was in heat. He is solid orange. I also expect this one to end up being the fatest. Each time another one tries to crowd in to eat, it pushed them away.
A gray one.
This one is solid black. I can't remember now, but it was one of the black ones that was born not attached.
This one has white socks on each of its feet and a little bit of white on its chin and belly.

Here is our calico with the foot we are keeping an eye on. The second I saw it was a calico, I wanted to keep her. I have a soft spot for calicos. ;) The foot we are watching is the back bottom foot that is all purple and swollen. I just love all they sleep all over each other.
