Rascal Flatts

Several months ago we were hanging out with the EEC when Jessica announced that Rascal Flatts was coming to Salt Lake City. Jessica and I both LOVE Rascal Flatts (probably her more then me, but I still love them too). Josh, on the other hand, calls them Flascal Ratts, he doesn't like them at all.

When Jessica said they were coming, I knew she would be there. I started to immediately think of how I could invite myself to the concert with her & Andrew, as a third wheel. Luckily for me, Andrew suggested to Jessica that she make it a girls weekend and go without him. 

We waited anxiously for months for the tickets to go on sale. The minute they went on sale, I was online to purchase them. We were hoping for front row seats, but the front section was already unavailable. But we still had AMAZING seats. We were a few rows back in the 2nd section, about center stage. 

Even after buying the tickets, we still had to wait a few more months before the concert. As it got closer, we sent texts to each other. "Only one more month." "Only one more week," We were both excited. 

It was the perfect girls weekend. We went out early on Friday and got pedicures. After that we ate out our favorite place, The Olive Garden. After checking into our hotel, we headed to the concert. 

When we got there, the preshow had just started with Justin Moore. We sat in our seats for a few minutes, but then decided to go check out the stands. 

We both wanted to buy a hoodie, but before we could get to the front of the line, they sold out. So instead I bought a magnet and a t-shirt. 

We got back to our seats just in time for the next part of the preshow, Sara Evans. I've always enjoyed her music, but I forgot how much. She was really fun to watch and I've now downloaded several of her songs on iTunes. 

After Sara Evans, we made a quick dash to the long line at the restrooms. We thought we had plenty of time. As soon as we set back down in our seats the lights went out and the stage lit up. Talk about perfect timing!

I LOVED the opening act. LOVED IT! I didn't take video, but loved it so much that I found a video of it on YouTube. 

My other favorite part of the night was when Sara Evans came out to sing "Easy" with them. I LOVE that song! Again, this isn't my video, but I loved the song so much, I went and found it on YouTube. 

It was the FUNNEST weekend. The next day I decided to spoil myself and bought a bunch of Halloween stuff I wanted. I had so much fun. Hopefully we can do something like that again soon. Until then, we have our cruise to look forward to. ;)

Swiss Days

This year, we decided to go to Swiss Days with Andrew & Jessica. It wasn't really Josh's thing, so he was bored most of the time. (Except when he had road rage because motorcycles AND cars were passing us on the shoulder because traffic was so slow.) I, however, really enjoyed it. I'm already thinking about going back next year, without the hubs, so I can have more time to browse.

I only ended up buying a few things, but I love each of them. There were so many Halloween decorations. 

Right towards the end we were trying to get caught up to Jessica & Andrew when I saw this stand selling onesies. I had looked at a few stands for something for the nephews, but every one was only selling girl things. Seriously people, there are little boys for aunts to buy for too you know! I feel in love with the frog onesie and wanted to buy it for Valex and Daxsen, but the smallest size they had was 6 months. I argued with the lady for a minute about finding a smaller size. She finally asked just how small the baby was and I told her he was born that week. After that she helped me dig through all of the onesies and we finally found one for 0-3 months. It wasn't the cute frog, but I thought it was almost as cute so I bought it too.

After we finished at Swiss Days, we drove to Park City. (Where I apparently decided to forget that I had my camera with me and never took any pictures all weekend.) We had lunch at Panda Express. Then the guys went to the hotel while Jessica & I did some shopping at Michael's Crafts and Walmart. At the hotel, we enjoyed some time in the pool and the hot tubs. Then we went to dinner at Ruby Tuesdays. (That is why Josh went; he swears he could drawn in their mixed berry lemonade.) The next morning, I soaked in the hot tub for a bit. Then we finished our trip off by eating at the Hub in Heber. It was a fun weekend and I look forward to doing other things with them.

Murder at Marti Gras Dinner Party

Last weekend Randi hosted a Murder Mystery Party at her home. It was a delightful evening with great food and even better company.

I had spent the last 2 months trying to find the perfect dress. A few weeks ago, I was at the mall with Barbara and Melanie. When we walked past Mr. Mac (the missionary suit store), I saw a stand of dresses out front. I grabbed a couple to try on and found a dressing room. Neither dress fit quite right, but someone else had left their dresses in there. I tried on the black one and LOVED it.

It was a little more then I wanted to spend so I put the dresses back and left to find the others. Five minutes later I decided I HAD to have that dress so Tyler and I went back to Mr. Mac and bought it. Then later that day I was able to find a pair of red wedges to go with it.

I decided it would be fun to make my own mask. It turned out cute, but didn't fit me quite right. When I put it on, I couldn't see straight and would end up getting cross eyed. So about 30 minutes before the party I found a stick and glued it to that.

I loved every one's costumes. And each person did a great job of playing their part.


At the end of the night I had NO idea who the killer was, even though I was sitting right next to him.

Riding in Dry Gulch

This weekend we headed up Dry Gulch with family to ride our horses. 

But first, here is how tricked out my horse has become. :) I'm convinced she is the prettiest horse on the farm. 

On Thursday night I went to Vernal to meet Josh and pick out the rest of the stuff I needed for my saddle. It was hard to choose a saddle blanket. I wanted something in purple, but the only purple they had was ugly, and expensive. I was finally able to settle on this neutral one. 

The only thing I was able to pick out on my own, without Josh there to guide me, was the harness and lead rope, which I did a few weeks ago. The pictures don't show up well though, the harness is purple, not pink. The lead rope is purple, pink and blue. 

I also picked out a breast collar when I met Josh in Vernal. 

 We went with Mel and her family, Dallon & Natalie, and met Josh's uncle Willard and Aunt Judy who had brought a few of their nephews with them. We had 5 horses between all of, so we had to take turns. Willard and Judy's horses, Tuner & Peanuts, are the calmest horses ever. 

 The boys LOVED riding the horses. I didn't get pictures of Judy's nephews, but each time one of the boys came back, another boy was begging to go. For the most part, the boys only got to ride Peanuts and Tuner, but at one point, Josh took Sugar and let Tyler ride with him.  (No picture though, the camera was in Josh's pocket.)

 No one thought Colter would ride, but when he saw how calm the horses were, he decided to go too. Tyler missed the first family ride while he finished his nap.

Then we started to get up for the long ride which included, myself, Josh, Dallon, Natalie and Willard

 Tyler woke up, so he got a quick ride in with his uncle Josh before we left.

We rode for about 2 hours along a trail that took us through some pretty country. I forgot my camera, but was able to borrow Barb's. Some of the pictures are blurry because its hard to take pictures on a moving horse. 

I tried to take a few pictures over my head to get pictures of Dallon and Natalie.

We stopped at this pond to look around when suddenly something started to move in the middle. 

At this point I gave the camera to Josh and told him to get lots of pictures. He did a great job. 

My thought on this picture was, why didn't I think of that and hold hands with Josh? But his horse was in one of her "sassy" moods, so we probably couldn't of anyways. 

 Sugar and I did so well together. She is a pretty calm horse and I'm getting more comfortable riding. I'm not near as sore as I was last week after we went riding. 

Back at the trucks so the others can take turns again. The spot we met at was so nice. We set up our blankets and picnic food in the shade of a few trees that kept us nice and cool. Then there was a huge field where all the kids could run and play and we could be able to keep an eye on them. And there was no running water nearby so it was nice to not have to worry about that.

I can't figure out where Preston came from. Maybe he was hiding behind that tree?

Melanie & Colter took one last ride with Tyler. They said he kept switching between them and he never stopped talking to the hose. He LOVED it!

It was the perfect fun day. Hopefully we can go again soon.
