Random thoughts for the day...

1 - I miss blogging. I will stare at my blog for inspiration and something to write about, but nothing comes to me. I have lost my groove, and I want it back. I wish I was a good enough writer to blog every day.

2 - There is a ton of choices when you shop for flowers online. Its hard to choose a favorite. Speaking of flowers, someone at work got a special delivery today of 6 gorgeous pink roses. She is down at the new building and I don't see the point of letting something so pretty sit in an empty office, so right now they are on my desk.

3 - Ally is in heat (she's a SEXY thing!), but she is still so small. We are actually thinking of letting this cat have kitten. I've always wanted to have a cat have kittens, but we've always lived in such small places. Now we live where we could probably do it. She is still too small for us to consider it right now so if we did go ahead and have kittens they would come right about the same time as the baby, and that sounds like a lot of work.

4 - The Utah Foster Care System, why are they so slow! My bestie will be a great mom, approve them already and give them a placement. You say you need more foster care parents, stop dragging your feet.

5 - Scrap book group was fun last night. Got better acquainted with some people and met new people.

6- I am convinced my belly HATES me. Actually, I've thought that for years. Acid Reflux is so miserable. But lately my belly has been touch and go on the upsettedness and I'm not sure it is acid reflux this time. (If you leave a comment that I could be pregnant, I will kick you. Infertile, remember?) Last night Josh jokingly said "what if you are lactose intolerant?" I had nightmares all night that I couldn't drink milk anymore. I'm going to have to keep a food diary and see if I can find out what is causing my belly aches.

7- Its ready for another FSA get together. I LOVE these get togethers. I HATE having to plan them.

11- Josh :) He is so wonderful. I've never met a better man. How did I ever get so lucky to marry him? Its been an amazing nine years. He makes me laugh and he holds me when I cry. He's an excellent cook. He provides so well for his family. His personality is the cutest. He knows how to calm me down when I am upset. And he knows how to make me happy. What more could I ask for?

FSA Ice Cream Social

We had an Ice Cream Social on Saturday for our FSA Group. It was lots of fun.

FSA Conference

It was an AWESOME weekend. This weekend we went to the city to attend the National Families Supporting Adoption Conference. It is the only thing that Josh will willing go to the city for (even without a trip to Cabela's).

This was the 3rd year for us. We love it so much. For two days we get to surround ourselves with other couples in the adoption world. Couples who have adopted and couples who are still trying to adopt. There is no place I would rather be.

This year was extra specail to me this year because I had so many friends. Our first year we were still working on our paperwork and we didn't know anyone. Last year we seemed to fit in better, but we still didn't really know anyone.

Then I joined 2ofus4now.org and started blogging. What a great way to make friends! I tried to get pictures with everyone I knew, but I still missed out on a few people. They were presenters and national board memebers and I know they were super busy. Thank you for putting your time and your efforts into this years conference. It was wonderful.

The other highlight of my weekend was I got to hold THREE different babies. Someone mentioned the nursery was a little hectic so I went to help out for a while where I held a little guy for about an hour. When his dad came to get him he apolgized for his sons slobber, but I was in heaven so a little slobber didn't hurt anything.

I also got to hold both of these little cuties. They were both born on the same day and got to meet for the first time on Saturday. I'm holding Eden and standing next to her mom Meka (she runs the Beautiful Baby Boutique). They are from Nevada. Next to her is Elizabeth holding her little girl Elora. Josh has the biggest crush on her, he thinks she has the cutest, chubbiest, baby cheeks ever. They are from Illinois.

I'm not sure what we are laughing about, but it must have been funny! I think this is a special picture because infertility has been such a huge, depressing, part of our lives and yet we are all happy.

We choose to do this a little differently since we live in the country were their really isn't blocks. We decided it would be fun to have a get together of families in the adoption world. The weather was kind of cool, but at least it didn't rain. We had so much fun visiting with our friends in the adoption world. My cousins who are also looking to adopt came and then another couple came that just adopted a baby girl a few months ago. She was so cute! One more family was able to come and they have three adopted children and are busy getting ready to adopt two little boys in the next few weeks.

While we were in Vernal we stopped to see Josh's grandparents. Grandma's flowers are so beautiful I just had to take a few pictures.

FSA Activity

We had an FSA activity today. We are now in charge of the group, but we haven't done much yet. We couldn't think of any ideas so I decided to bake some sugar cookies and then we frosted them at the activity. It was fun. We enjoy getting together with others in the adoption world.

FSA Activity

Yesterday was our FSA (Families Supporting Adoption) activity. We decided to donate some Thanksgiving dinners to families in our wards this year. It was awesome fun. We brought 3 of the dinners home for our ward. Our bishop wasn't home to devilver them so I have 4 frozen turkeys sitting in my freezer (we bought a 22 lb. bird last night for our upcoming Thanksgiving dinner!) We did try to make sure they got a little of everything they would need for Thanksgiving dinner. The boxes, which we decorated ourselves includ: turkey, turkey roasting pan, frozen pumpkin pie, box of stuffing, bag of potatoes, can of corn, can of cranberries. I hope the families who get them enjoy them.

I should also mention that Josh and I have been asked to be the new Head Chair people of our local FSA chapter. I was excited until the previous ones started unloading all the boxes from their car, now I feel overwhelmed. But I get excited about anything adoption related so onward and upward! We don't have a lot of people that come. I'm not sure how many members our group has, but we only get 2 other couples besides ourselves to these activities. Our goal is to get a better attendance to our activities. FSA is wonderful. It's like a support group family and I can't imagine going through the process of adoption alone.
