Valex's 4th Birthday

On the day of Valex's birthday, I asked Vanessa to take a picture of him with his card I sent him in the mail. She went above and beyond and captured the whole thing in pictures.

I think this picture is my favorite. The grin on his face is priceless.

Daxsen was feeling a little left out. But his birthday is in August, so it will be his turn soon enough.

I saw him a few days later and asked him what he got in his card (meaning the $5). I think he was a little confused that I had sent it to him.

Valex is obsessed with Ninja turtles, so I let that guide my shopping.

I couldn't find Ninja Turtle pj's, but he also likes airplanes.

These shirts actually came in a set of 3, but when I opened the package, I found that one was a Christmas shirt. So I set it aside for this winter.

When I saw this pirate shirt, I just couldn't resist it.

The last thing I found was this cute plus ninja turtle. I thought it would be small, but when it came in the mail, it was much bigger than I expected!

For his cake, he wanted a Ninja Turtle Cake. Wilton has had two Ninja Turtle pans over the years, but both are discontinued. So I looked on eBay. I got in a few bidding wars before I finally found a pan. The cake was a bit of work, but I love how it turned out.

Vanessa made these cute Ninja Turtle appetizer plates.

Playing with the cars from Grandpa and Grandma Susan.

We always can tell which presents are from my mom because they are wrapped in Christmas wrapping paper. (Maybe I'll give her a collection of wrapping paper for her birthday.)

Valex loved his cake!

I can't believe this little boy is 4 years old! He has been such a joy to have in my life and I feel so blessed to be his aunt.

Andrew and I sent Kinley money for her birthday in June and when I asked her about it later, she had the same reaction like wondering how I knew she got a card with money in it in the "post" as she calls it. ;) She's very in to English (England) words lately! It cracks me up that Ninja Turtles are back. They were my brother's favorite when we were little. :D The cake you did looks amazing! The Christmas wrapping paper is great! Good gift idea for you! ;)
