Baby Gift

A few months ago, I was looking for fabric for a baby blanket for my nephew that is due in July. While I was in the store, I feel in love with a blanket that had a skull design on it. I didn't think my in-laws would appreciate it very much, but then I remembered a friend that is also due this summer and thought she would like it.

Then, a few weeks later, I was in the store, once again looking for fabric for my nephew, when I feel in love with a frog material. It would probably be ok for my nephew, but I really wanted something western for him. So I bought the frog one for the same friend.
To finish the package off, I found this cute onesie and binky.

I know her baby is due very soon, so I had to hurry and get this mailed off today so it will arrive in time.

My Dad's Wedding

About a month ago, my dad called to see if he could come visit. He had a lady friend, Susan, he wanted us to meet.

Then, a week later he called to say they would be getting married the following Saturday. I was thrilled for him, but also sad because that was the day I flew to Atlanta. I told him it was ok if I wasn't there, but I would miss it.

Between myself, my sister and some of Susan's children, that day just wasn't good. So they decided to move it forward two weeks and get married this Saturday.

When it was all set, the bishop that was going to marry them had some conflicting issues. They could either wait another week or get married during the week.

So they got married this morning.

The wedding was held at my grandparents house. All of my siblings were able to be there, along with most of my dad's siblings.

My aunt Susan (yes, now we have two Susan's in the family) was sweet enough to make them a cake for today.

While we were inside getting ready to cut the cake, my brother Alden was outside decorating their car.

I'm so happy for my dad. Susan seems very sweet and she makes him happy.

Valex's 4th Birthday

On the day of Valex's birthday, I asked Vanessa to take a picture of him with his card I sent him in the mail. She went above and beyond and captured the whole thing in pictures.

I think this picture is my favorite. The grin on his face is priceless.

Daxsen was feeling a little left out. But his birthday is in August, so it will be his turn soon enough.

I saw him a few days later and asked him what he got in his card (meaning the $5). I think he was a little confused that I had sent it to him.

Valex is obsessed with Ninja turtles, so I let that guide my shopping.

I couldn't find Ninja Turtle pj's, but he also likes airplanes.

These shirts actually came in a set of 3, but when I opened the package, I found that one was a Christmas shirt. So I set it aside for this winter.

When I saw this pirate shirt, I just couldn't resist it.

The last thing I found was this cute plus ninja turtle. I thought it would be small, but when it came in the mail, it was much bigger than I expected!

For his cake, he wanted a Ninja Turtle Cake. Wilton has had two Ninja Turtle pans over the years, but both are discontinued. So I looked on eBay. I got in a few bidding wars before I finally found a pan. The cake was a bit of work, but I love how it turned out.

Vanessa made these cute Ninja Turtle appetizer plates.

Playing with the cars from Grandpa and Grandma Susan.

We always can tell which presents are from my mom because they are wrapped in Christmas wrapping paper. (Maybe I'll give her a collection of wrapping paper for her birthday.)

Valex loved his cake!

I can't believe this little boy is 4 years old! He has been such a joy to have in my life and I feel so blessed to be his aunt.
