April's Wii Party

I think we have officially decided to do a Wii party every month. Last night we went to Kim's house and since it was April Fools Day, she had a fun dinner. We almost forgot to take pictures, but at the last minute someone remembered.

We had meatloaf cupcakes (that were even better then real cupcakes) and ladies fingers bread sticks.

For dessert, Kim made Sushi Rolls with rice crispy treats, gummy worms and fruit roll-ups. They were so pretty and so yummy.

We get so caught up in the fun, that I forget to take pictures. We usually start with Guitar Hero because every one is pretty full from dinner. It must be a fun game because we've all bought a different version of it now. When we first started our Wii parties, all we had was one guitar, but now we can get a full band going with 2 guitars, a drummer and a singer. We would love to somehow connect a third guitar, but we can't figure out how to do that.

After Guitar Hero we usually do Just Dance or Just Dance 2. Those games are such workouts! Then that is followed by Glee Karaoke. Then we usually go back to another version of Guitar Hero.

The only picture that isn't super blurry from last night.

Wii Party

Ever since the New Year's Eve Party, Josh has been hinting that he wants to get together again and play Guitar Hero. So this week I suggested it and we decided to all get together and have a Wii party. Jessica had just gotten a new game, Just Dance 2, and Kim brought Glee Karaoke. Between those three games we had a BLAST!
I didn't play Guitar Hero the last time, but this time I got brave and tried it out. I tried one song and didn't do well, but then Jessica told me to try "Eye of the Tiger". I finished the song (on the easy level)! But it must have all got to my head because I never did well after that. (I couldn't even do a song on the beginners level!)

I've heard Just Dance is a fun game, and it IS! We were so tired and yet we kept going.

I didn't know if I would get into the Karaoke game, but I really enjoyed it too.
Even Jessica's cat Emilio joined in on the fun.
I now have a HUGE wish list of new games on Amazon.com that I want to get someday, hopefully soon.

New Years Eve 2010

For New Years Eve we got together with Andrew & Jessica and Brandon & Kim and had a fondue party. We had so much food, but it was all so good. We each choose a sauce and then brought the stuff to dip in it. Jessica did the caramel sauce and Kim did the chocolate sauce. We brought two cheese sauces and at the last minute I made a Strawberry sauce too. Andrew made a Sausage dip that was so good. All the food was so good!

For the cheese sauce we had:
French bread cut into cubes
Broccoli
Cauliflower
Celery
Carrots
Chips

For the caramel, chocolate and strawberry sauce we had:
Pretzels
Apples
Bananas
Angel food cake
Pound Cake
Rice krispies (that Kim cut into cute stars!)
Cheese cake
Cream puffs
Several kinds of marshmallows
Gummy Bears
Raspberries
Donut Holes

Then the men had Lil Smokies and Elk steak so they could eat real food.

I blogged the recipes I used for my sauces on my cooking blog HERE.

After dinner we hooked up the Wii's and started playing. Everyone (but me) played Guitar Hero. I thought it looked hard so I hooked up the second Wii and played Mario Cart while watching them play their game. Josh liked Guitar Hero, but it was a lot of work for him to finally be able to get through one song.
Kim thought it was easier if she held it like a violin.
Blowing in the New Year. Welcome 2011.
We ended up staying until 2 AM; we were having so much fun! It was so cold when we left (-15) that my car wouldn't start. Luckily we had drove down separately because I had to work for an hour and Josh didn't want to go grocery shopping with me. So we drove home in the truck. I can't remember the last time we stayed up so late for New Years. I can't wait until we get together again.
