Santa & Colt

Most of the nephews have reached the age that they can recognize Josh in his Santa costume. Josh won't even play Santa if he know's Tyler & Preston will be there because he knows they'll know its him. He did play Santa at the daycare where Valex and Daxsen go. I had to work, but we decided that would be better. I think if I had been there, the boys would have figured it out. Even without me there, Josh thinks Daxsen knew he should know who it was, but couldn't quite figure it out. He said the whole time, Daxsen just looked at him with a look that said "I know you...but I can't quite place you."

This is Colt's second Christmas, so I knew I could be there and not give anything away. It actually worked out well, because it gave me in the insentive to go in early and take my Stat final. (By the way, I scored 146 out of 150!) I got home just in time to go with Josh to the Christmas party.

Last year, Colt loved Santa and gave him a huge grin. This year, he wasn't having any of that. But Josh can tell you that is typical behavior of all kids that age.

This was the best picture I could get as he squirmed to get away from Santa.

Santa & nephews

Last week, Josh played Santa for his brother's ward. The highlight of the night was getting to hold Colt.

This weekend, he also went to see Valex & Daxsen. They had already seen Santa with their dad, but we decided to still go. When I asked Vanessa, she said that just that morning Valex had told her needed to see Santa to tell him he wanted a Buzz Lightyear. Of course, once we were there, he was too shy to ask for anything.

Santa Jobs

Once again, Santa has stayed very busy this Christmas season. I haven't gotten pictures at most events, but I did get a couple. Most years, he does a lot of family parties, but this year has been more public events. He was Santa after a dance concert, at a Birthday party, Alco, a daycare, after a play in Tabiona, and the pet shelter*. After that, he only did like 3 family parties.

The day Josh shot his elk was the day he was supposed to do the Santa job at the pet shelter. About 90 minutes before he was supposed to be there, he called me at work to tell me there was no way he was going to make it. I was furious and frantic. I made a few phone calls and finally found a new Santa, my brother Alden. Because Josh wears glasses, I didn't have any for Alden to wear as Santa. And we had to keep his wig pulled low because his eyebrows are so dark.

Alden loved it. People were allowed to bring their pets to get a picture with Santa. It really was the perfect job for him. He loved seeing all the different dogs and getting them to pose with him.

While he was busy with that, I was busy making a new friend. I was so tempted to bring him home, but in the end, I decided we didn't need another cat at this time.

Santa at Alco.

I still find it funny that my scrooge of a husband loves to play Santa.

Santa Visits Valex & Daxsen

Tyler & Preston can recognize Josh when he is dressed as Santa, but Valex and Daxsen are still young enough that we went to see them again this year. Vanessa had left a present for each boy on the porch, plus I brought one for each boy, so Santa gave them each two gifts.

The top row was for Daxsen and the bottom row was for Valex. I wanted to make sure Valex got a helicopter.

This year, both boys were excited to see Santa.

Well, Daxsen was more excited about the cookies he had, but he wants to be just like his big brother, so he sat on Santa's lap too.

Both boys loved their gifts.

Santa visits Valex & Daxsen

One night last week, Josh had a Santa job in Vernal. On our way there, we decided to stop and see my sister and her kids. I thought Daxsen would be okay and Valex would be the scared kid. But it was the complete opposite. Valex went right up to Santa and sat on his lap.

Valex was pretty excited when we walked in.

Vanessa even had a few gifts to wrap that she left on the porch for Santa to give to the boys.

Daxsen didn't like Santa one bit. So we only made Josh hold him long enough to get a picture. One his mom was holding him, he was fine.

While I was stealing some of my sister's pictures, I had to steal this picture too. One of the guys my mom works with dresses up as the Grinch every year.
