Daxsen's 1st Birthday

This weekend, we got together to celebrate Daxsen's 1st birthday. Let me tell you, he is one spoiled little boy.

Below is a picture of everything I got for him. Which I wrapped into 4 different packages to be unwrapped. Josh made the comment, "You don't spoil your nephews at all, do you." I replied by telling him it was almost time to order the Halloween shirts I like to get for them every year. Yep, not spoiled at all. ;)

Daxsen wasn't quite sure what to do with his gifts. But his big brother was right there to show him.

He always has the most serious look on his face! Cracks me up each time.

When Valex turned 1, he got a little train to ride. Daxsen got a firetruck, which Valex immediately tried to claim as his own. I think now that Daxsen can walk, Valex gets jealous a lot more easily.

After John got the wheels put on the firetruck, Valex immediately jumped on it. When John tried to lift him off, he wrapped his legs around it so we couldn't pry him off.

Daxsen liked his firetruck.

Valex didn't like him liking his firetruck.

So Daxsen went and played with the toy cars my mom bought for Valex so he wouldn't feel left out.

After dinner, it was time for birthday cake. In my family, its tradition that on your 1st birthday, you get your own smash cake. Vanessa decided to do a Mickey Mouse cake for Daxsen's 1st birthday. Since we needed two cakes for the party, she came up the day before to help me. She decorated the Mickey Mouse cake. It turned out so cute!

The second cake we did was a dinosaur cake. When I was looking at pans one day, I fell in love with this pan and just had to have it. I was going to buy it whether my sister wanted it or not, so I was tickled when she wanted it as the 2nd cake.

When Valex noticed how much attention Daxsen was getting with his dirty face, Valex started smearing ice cream on his face. Then he would look up at us and just laugh and laugh.

I can't believe my favorite nephew is no longer a baby. I love these boys so much. I wish I could just bottle their cuteness up and keep it forever.

Las Vegas Day 6 - Terry Fator

Our day started out with more exploring on the strip. The cool part was when we decided to go to a casino that wasn't on the list and one my mom had never been to before. It was the Bally Casino. To me, the outside is kinda cheesy. Dress up Elvis's and other characters litter the sidewalk in front of it. But then you go inside and its so elegant! It ended up being one of my favorite casinos.

The coolest part was the Pearl Factory. I was able to walk by it once, but when we were headed back out, I just had to stop! And since we ended up leaving with 3 necklaces, I'm sure they are glad we stopped to.

My first oyster. :)

After I finished picking out a setting for my 1st oyster, they let me choose a 2nd one, out of their "old" pile for free. My mom decided to turn it into a necklace for her. Because she did, they let her choose a 3rd "old" oyster for free, which she turned into a necklace for my sister. That was the end of our free "old" oysters, but since we got a necklace for all the girls in the family, it worked out perfectly.

When we left Bally, I decided to get my picture with Mario & Luigi. Luigi must have known he was always my favorite character, because he was a flirt.

After that, we went back to the Bellagio.

They have the world's largest chocolate fountain. It was so cool!
They also had a ton of cool things made out of chocolate. Mostly cakes, but I LOVED this dress!

After we each got a treat at the chocolate store, we went outside to wait for the water show to start.

That night, we went back to The Mirage for Terry Fator. Because Phantom of the Opera made such a big deal about no pictures, we decided to take a few in the lobby.

It didn't matter! They were so more relaxed about pictures! So much so, that while we were waiting for the show to start, a professional came and took a few pictures of us.

Terry Fator was AWESOME! He won America's Got Talent a few years ago, and I'm still convinced he is the best one to EVER win!

As soon as the show ended, my mom disappeared. We went out to the lobby to find she wanted to be first in line to buy the pictures.

After Terry Fator, we went back to Treasure Island to buy some drinks. It was the only place we could find non alcoholic drinks for my mom and and the boys earlier in the week. Then we walked back to The Mirage to watch the volcano show again.

The next day was spent packing and driving home. But I did get a good laugh when my mom stopped in St. George so we could all go to Sub Zero again. It looks like I converted them all.
It was a fun trip and I'm glad I was able to go.
