Craw fish and Flowers

We spent the afternoon fishing for Craw fish. We did pretty good.

The cactus flowers were gorgeous right now.

I loved this little guy.

We ended up with 22 craw fish. We're going to try and cook them tomorrow.

Something new...

Have I mentioned how busy I've been lately. This month I decided it was time to get all my checkups. Within four days I had a doctor appointment, blood work, an eye checkup and a teeth cleaning. I had to follow up on my eye appointment again today. We switched to another kind of contacts and if today is any kind of sign I will be trying yet another kind next week. I have a problem with my eyes feeling tired when contact are in. I'm not sure what happened today, but about a half an hour after I put these new ones in one of them feel out. It took several minutes to find and never felt right after I put it back in so I took it out again this afternoon. I'll try them for a few days, but if I can't adjust I get to go back and try one more type of contact lens. I hope they work.

I also have to follow up with my dentist. That will be the most expensive endeavor. I have an appointment this coming Friday and they informed me that since I need so much work done they are going to split it into at least two separate appointments! Thanks heavens for my health savings account!

After all of this, I feel like I should feel like a new person, but I don't look like a new person. Yesterday I splurged and did something to make me feel better.

Starvation Reservoir

The last weekend in May we went to Starvation Reservoir to try some fishing. I use the term loosely because the only thing we ended up getting while there were they pictures. Maybe we'll do better next time.

Upper Stillwater

Last night we took a drive up to the mountains after work. We have taken Sage on a few car rides, but each time I have held her by her leash through the back window. She has gotten much better and now seems to enjoy the rides. This time we decided that we wouldn't hold her back and see how she did. She almost fell out about 20 yards from the driveway, but did fine the rest of the time. I think the problem is she was used to meeting resistance when she leaned out and this time it wasn't there to stop her. It was hard to get pictures because she wouldn't hold still, but here is a few. Just as we got there last night she decided she was bored/lonely and she climbed in through the back window. We love to go to Upper Stillwater/Rockcreek when the water is overflowing over the dam. It's so beautiful and peaceful. It makes me feel so small when I see the massive waterfall.

We took some family pictures. (Have I said before how much I LOVE my camera, especially the self timer!)

It was hard to get Sage to sit still and look at the camera so I cropped her not so good side out of this last picture.
We hope she will want to play in the water, but since it was cold we only let her get a drink.
The trees are LOADED this year with pine cones.

We are so grateful to live where the mountains are only a few minutes away.

For three year olds???

I was browsing around the Internet when I saw an AD for a PDA...for 3 year olds. What has our world come to that we think we need to give children their own PDA? I can't believe the people I see everyday that can't go a second without their cell phones and other technological devices. I had a guy come in earlier this week to start a new account. I kid you not.... he would write a few letters and then push a button on his cell phone (which looked like it was permanently attached to his ear). Five minutes later he was only to the 3rd line!

And don't get me started on people's grammar. It drives me nuts! Last month I was invited to the Jr. High to help with their "Reality Town." They take a student's GPA and based on that assign them a career. They also are randomly assigned families. Then they are given a list of bills and told to go pay everything. It was really interesting and I think it is a great thing for the students. These students are in 7th and 8th grade. Some of them couldn't spell! I just couldn't believe it.
Just so everyone knows, we turn our cell phones off when we get home and don't turn them on AT ALL during the weekend. And if that isn't shocking enough...we also DON'T text. That's right, we use our cell phones are regular telephones; we use them to call and talk to other people on their phones.

On a completely different subject. I was slated for an hour off of work today and I have no idea why. I've had the feeling all week I was supposed to do something on Wednesday, but I don't know what. But now I need time off tomorrow so I guess I'll put in a full day today... Stay tuned tomorrow for something new!

Happy Anniversary Melanie & Colter

It is Melanie & Colter's 3rd Anniversary today.

I had so much fun taking their pictures for their announcements. We drove up to the mountains in July. It was so pretty up there. I was short on time this morning so I choose just my favorites. It was hard to do because I took over 60 pictures that day.

This picture was my favorite, but when we printed it out the grass looked more yellow than green, so we didn't end up using it.

This is the picture we used for their announcements, or it was one similar to this. I took several pictures by these rocks and couldn't remember exactly which one we ended up going with, but I really like this picture of them, they look so happy.

Their open house was held at Melanie's parents August 11th. It was such a pretty day. Most days the wind blows in the upper country, but that day it only did for a little while while we were setting up. It really was perfect weather for an outside reception. We put a lot of time and work into getting the yard ready and it all turned out so nice. I think I took over 90 pictures this day! But I find that when you take too many pictures you have a better chance of getting the perfect picture.

At sunset I was worried because we hadn't taken pictures of them and it was getting dark. But they turned out perfect with the sunset. I couldn't have asked for a better picture.

Melanie's aunt made their cake. Isn't it pretty. Oh and isn't Melanie's dress pretty. We spent all day in the city looking for a dress. That night when I got home I was going through our mail and found a Chadwick's catalog that had this dress in it.

Do you know a 10 lb. cat can weigh double her weight after 50 steps?

We've been trying to walk every night with Sage. Lately we've not done too well, but tonight we decided we better get with it and get in shape because we have a big hike planned over the 4th of July weekend.

We got down the road about 500 yards and Josh turned around to get Sage to come and he noticed something following us down the hill. Pyro had decided to join us on our walk. We go down the road about half a mile and then turn around and come back. She wouldn't go home, so I carried her. She is a heavy cat after half a mile! On the way back our neighbor was driving by on his motorcycle and he stopped to visit. After a few minutes Pyro was getting restless (and heavier) so I told Josh I would see him at the house.

After I had been home for a few minutes I heard the neighbor go by so I decided to walk back down and meet Josh. When I got down there we turned around to notice that not only did Pyro follow me this time, but Zipper was with her. Even Missy had ventured off of the porch to half way down the yard (that is a BIG adventure for her!). I think they are all jealous of the time we spend with Sage.

Since I'm being lazy and don't want to do another post I'll give a quick run down of this week. Monday - Doctor's appointment; Tuesday - Blood work (I still have a big bruise!); Wednesday - Eye appointment (new contacts); Thursday - work's annual meeting picnic (we served about 1200 people); Friday - dentist (just a cleaning, but now I have to go back and have some serious = expensive work done). I am tired after this week.

But we do have some good news, we are getting ready for our camping trip. We are both so excited. Josh is very familiar with the mountains and he has chosen a pretty place with a not to bad hike for us to go. Today we bought my hiking shoes! We still need back packs, water filter, and a few other things, but we are getting excited!

I had an AWESOME experience today

I decided it fit better on my infertility blog, so go read about it HERE. It involves the dentist, and don't get to excited while reading it because it doesn't lead to a baby, but it was still the most awesome experience I've had in a long time.

This has only been like a year in the making, I am so excited. The new It's About Love website is now up and running!

A few things everyone should know....

If you already had a website built and had links to it on your blogs or email, you will need to change those links by taking out the beta. I think I have all of mine changed including the friends I have linked here on my blog. If you notice a link doesn't work, please let me know.

The old website will be up until the end of June, then they will be taking it completely offline.

Which leads me to...

If you don't have a profile on the new website, you need to get one. They are so much better. Yes, they are a lot of work, but it will be worth it. I am willing to help in what ever way I can. (Seriously, take me up on this offer! I can type things in for you or help you scan pictures, just contact me. I want to help everyone find their child!)
